A Sheen of Dew on Flowers - Southern Oregon Repertory Singers
Southern Oregon Repertory Singers presents the North American premier of Joby Talbot’s major new composition for choir, orchestra, and soloists, A Sheen of Dew on Flowers as the feature work of this year’s James M. Collier Festival of New Choral Music. Evening performance Feb 29th at 7:30 PM and Matinee Mar 1st at 3:00 PM
I have long had a fascination for works that combine the timbres of choir and percussion. The sharpness of percussion juxtaposes so incredibly with the fluidity and warmth of a choir and I have been in love with this genre since I performed Karl Jenkins The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace and that love grow exponentially after recording the late David Maslanka’s Mass with the Oregon State University Wind Ensemble and Corvallis Repertory Singers.
